Virtual Celebration of The Class of 2020

Diplomas

As you may have seen from the series of communications from UVA via UVA Today and other sources, preparations are being made for the first-ever virtual celebration and degree conferral for the University of Virginia’s Class of 2020, set to launch Saturday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Students, families, and friends can view the ceremony on the Class of 2020 Celebration website and at virginia.edu/live, as well as on UVA’s official Facebook and Twitter social media accounts.

The program will feature UVA’s traditional year-in-review video, remarks from President Ryan, the conferral of degrees by the deans of each of UVA’s 12 schools, two student musical performances, and appearances by two surprise world-class entertainers.

At the end of UVA main program, Arts & Sciences invites you to view a few minutes of remarks from Dean Ian Baucom on the College’s main website (as.virginia.edu), starting at 1:45 p.m., to view a listing of student awards from across departments, and more.

As much as we wish we be together on Grounds on May 16, the Arts & Sciences community will come together virtually to honor our 3,123 students who have earned their degrees and join the College’s worldwide network of alumni. We also look forward to welcoming Class of 2020 graduates and their families at UVA’s Final Exercises on Grounds, planned for October 2020.
